STMicroelectronics Innovation Recovers Power Lost Due To Solar-Panel Variability

ST’s new SPV1020 chip allows Maximum Power-Point Tracking (MPPT) to be applied individually for each panel. MPPT automatically adjusts a solar generator’s output circuitry to compensate for power fluctuations resulting from varying solar intensity, shadowing, temperature change, panel mismatch, or ageing.

Axelite Announced AX3512/AX3513 PWM Buck Convertor

The AX3512/3513 series is a high-efficiency Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) synchronous buck convertor using a constant frequency with current mode architecture. Capable of delivering 0.6/1A output current over a wide input voltage range from 2.5V to 5.5V, makes AX3512/3513 ideally suited for single Li-Ion, two to four AA battery-powered applications. 100% duty cycle provides low dropout operation, extending battery life in portable systems. PWM pulse skipping mode operation provides very low output ripple voltage for noise sensitive applications.
