The World’s First Solar-Powered WindTurbine
Research team from the Liverpool University recently revealed their latest research findings in terms of Wind Turbine. They added solar panels on the turbine blades to generate electricity by wind and solar. In this project, the team enlarged the blades shape in order to absorb more solar energy and raise the wind spin productivity. Meanwhile, anti-glare coatings are added on the blades, with the aim to prevent the aggregation of sun beams, which could potentially blinding aircraft pilots or the occurrence of fire accidents. A New Power System of Traffic Intersection
A team of college students came together to design a piezoelectric energy converter which applied to traffic intersection by transforming the power of footsteps into energy. The device is placed under the cross-walk to generate the electricity to power traffic system, such as cameras, traffic signals and LED street lamps. With the power system of traffic intersection, the vibrations and pressure fluctuations caused by cars and pedestrians can be converted into electricity. New 3D microscope lens developed
The Ohio State University engineers have come up with a three-dimensional microscope lens which can capture images from nine different angles to form a 3D picture of an object. The new device is using a single still lens to create 3D images, different from previous 3D microscopy which required the use of multiple lenses and moving cameras.
