VTI and EDOM have concluded a partnership agreement
July 5, 2006, Taipei - VTI Technologies Oy and Taiwanese EDOM Technology (TSE:3048) have signed a distribution agreement. According to the agreement EDOM sells and markets VTI’s pressure and acceleration sensors for Taiwan’s consumer electronics industry.
"This cooperation further improves our service level and provides benefits to our customers as well. Taiwan is an established center of consumer electronics industry, and VTI’s recently announced pressure sensor (SCP1000) and accelerometer sensor (SCA3000) product families are targeted to this specific market segment. The cooperation with EDOM Technology improves substantially our ability to serve globally operating companies", says Pekka Huttunen, Business Line Director, VTI Technologies Oy.
“MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) has became a crucial technology for future product development,” said Jack Lin, Senior Vice President of Marketing of EDOM Technology. “We are glad to have this great opportunity to introduce the innovative MEMS based VTI products into the Taiwanese market. With higher performance, smaller package, lower power consumption and competitive price, VTI not only provides customers the capabilities to build up high-value products but also enhance their product competitiveness. Furthermore, together with VTI’s leading technology and EDOM’s broad market penetration, we believe this cooperation will definitely benefit our customers and help them to provide more creative and advanced products."
The agreement with EDOM is a part of VTI’s sales and partnership strategy. The ability to provide sensors globally and have local distributors is a key factor in optimizing sales and customer service. EDOM has already started to sell and market VTI’s sensors in Taiwan.
VTI has recently announced its latest product innovation, the SCA3000. The SCA3000 is a 3-axis accelerometer that can be used to measure acceleration, detect motion and inclination. It can be used in portable navigation devices, sports equipment and hand-held devices such as mobile phones, personal digital assistants and more.
VTI’s another recent innovation, the SCP1000 pressure sensor family, provides measuring modes that give an opportunity to choose the optimum combination of accuracy and current consumption. High accuracy pressure sensing and compact size create new opportunities e.g. in sports and wellness, terminal and medical fields.
