Available in two small outline packages, these compact modem solutions eliminate the need for a separate DSP, modem controller, codec, isolation transformer, relays, opto-isolators, clocking crystal and 2-4 wire hybrids. The Si2401/04/15/34/57 data modems provide conventional data formats with connect rates from 2400 to 56,000 bps, full duplex over the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and include V.42, V.42bis and MNP 2-5 on-chip. (except Si2401). These data modems also feature fast connect modes, parallel phone detection, line-in-use monitoring, caller ID and excellent surge immunity. Additionally the Si2401 includes fast connect times for electronic point-of-sale (EPOS) applications and alarm protocols for security systems. These devices are ideal for embedded modem applications due to their flexibility, small footprint and minimal external component count.
